2025 Career Carnival Impact

The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance hosted the 2025 Career Carnival bringing students and local employers together for a fun, hands-on event designed to highlight the career opportunities available on the Lower Eastern Shore.

Students from Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties had the opportunity to meet with 40+ employees and enjoy a casual, conversation driven, carnival themed career exploration event.

Each student received a backpack filled with resources, including a scavenger hunt booklet featuring facts about participating businesses. Students then had the opportunity to talk with local employers and vendors to match facts and earn stamps towards prizes.

The goal of event was to help students broaden their understanding of local career opportunities and show that rewarding careers do not always require a four-year degree.

Following the waves of local public school students, LSWA opened the event to the public, allowing job seekers to connect with local employment and training opportunities. Over the course of the day, a total of 146 attendees participated in the event.
