2026 Summer Kickoff

The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance, in partnership with TidalHealth, hosted our Summer Kickoff event at the Wicomico Civic Center. The event gave local students a chance to engage in meaningful conversations about their next steps, explore summer employment opportunities, and build confidence by practicing how to approach local professionals with resume in hand.

Students were able to:

· Try Virtual Reality Headsets

· Learn about Industries on the Lower Eastern Shore

· Directly network with local businesses and recruiters

· Have one-on-one interviews in a dedicated interview space

The event hosted a range of over 30 vendors, from various industry sectors. Each vendor came prepared with informational materials, promotional items, and knowledgeable team members ready to answer any questions and discuss employment options with students. High school juniors and seniors from Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties were transported to the event with their designated Career Coaches.

Over the course of the day, 7 students obtained summer jobs further advancing their experience and skills to better prepare them for entering our local workforce.
