Marine Programs
As a component of our LSWA Business Services Department, our organization provides funding for a variety of different Marine Trade Programs. Information about these programs is listed below:
Marine Service Technician
The Marine Service Technician Program prepares students to install, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of marine equipment. With training at Chesapeake College, in dedicated marine labs, students gain practical skills and take certification tests making participants job-ready for the marine service industry.
Captain’s License Program
The Captain’s License Program allows individuals to operate and tow vessels with passengers and cargo. This license will allow individuals to work around fishing charters, dive boats, sightseeing boats, ferries, and sailing charters. Living Shorelines Program
The Living Shoreline Professional Training Program educates individuals around the design, permitting, and construction of living shoreline projects. This certification allows individuals to work around costal engineering and marine construction jobs with contractors. This program provides the advanced technical skills and includes field visits, mock design sessions, and permit workshops.
