Who We Are
LSWA’s Level Up! Lower Shore young adult program provides education, training and support services to out-of-school individuals ages 16 – 24 years old who are facing educational and/or economical barriers.
Through our programs and collaboration with our partners and community resources, we equip young adults with the skills to achieve their goals.
The program is operated locally by the Lower Shore Workforce Alliance and is not operated by any Board of Education.
Who You Are
Young Adults age 16 – 24 who want to make a positive change in their lives and need help to find the right opportunities to make it happen.
Be Empowered – Get knowledge, resources and skills essential for a successful career: enroll in classes to earn a high school equivalency.
Get Training – Enroll in training that leads to employment in your chosen career path: get tuition and/or book assistance while in training.
Get Employed – Assistance with getting sustainable job that can lead to a prosperous career.
Get Inspired – By mentors in your field of interest
- You are a resident of Somerset, Wicomico or Worcester County.
- Are 16 – 24 years old and not attending any school
- U. S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U. S.
- An one or more of these:
- School dropout
- Basic Skills Deficient
- English Language Learner
- Justice system involved
- In or aged out of foster care
- Pregnant or parenting
- Have a disability
- Poor or no work history
- Have an incarcerated Parent
- Family history of substance abuse
Summer Youth Employment
Through funding from the Maryland Department of Labor and the Rural Maryland Council, LSWA is able to support programs each summer that provide summer work experience for school-aged youth. For more information, call 410-341-3835.
